Francis (Frank) A. Texiera of Litchfield, NH, formerly of Dickson, TN, Chelmsford, MA and Lowell, MA, died on February 6, 2025, just after his 92nd birthday. He was born in Lowell, MA, the second youngest of 13 children, the son of the late John and Rose (Augusta) Teixeira. He is predeceased by his wife, Flo Texiera, and his sons, Michael Texiera and Francis Texiera Jr. Frank is survived by his children, Mark Texiera, Carol Brigham, Christine Texiera, and Dawn Grimard, with her spouse, Bob Grimard, and his sister, Pat Texiera. His many grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss him.
Frank had a tremendously strong work ethic. At a young age, he started working in the stone quarry and the textile mills. At the start of the Korean War, he enlisted in the Navy. He trained in Maryland, Florida, and finally Norman, Oklahoma, a place he remembered for its abundance of single women and dancehalls. He was then stationed in Quonset Point, RI until he was discharged at the end of the war. After the war, he shared his expertise with many companies, but his longest tenure was at Wang Laboratory, working his way up from Dr. Wang’s basement lab to the upper executive floors.
An avid golfer, he proudly earned multiple hole-in-one trophies. He loved fishing and left behind a world of people who learned to fish due to his enthusiasm. In later years, you would find him playing pool at the senior center, gardening, completing a puzzle, or enjoying lunch with a grandchild at a local Portuguese restaurant.
After a good meal or a meaningful moment, Frank would often smile and say, “This isn’t good. This is excellent.” His family and friends will carry that spirit forward, appreciating the small pleasures that make for a well-lived life.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 12, with a mass at St. Francis of Assisi on Saturday, May 10 beginning at 11am.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to their favorite charity in Frank’s name.
