Franklin B. Hignett, 90 of Chester, NH passed away March 3, 2017 at his daughter's home in Murfreesboro, TN.
Born in Rohnerville CA. on July 5, 1926, he was the son of William and Hilda ( Gavil ) Hignett.
He graduated from Foxboro HS in 1944 and Bentley College with a degree in accounting.
During WWII he served in the Navy on the LSMR 513 as a gunner's mate.
Frank was in the hotel sales industry and was honored with Hotel Man of the Year in 1967, became president of the HSMA and inducted into the hall of fame for hotel executives.
Frank also was the tournament director for the NH PGA for 15 years. He was a member of the Church of The Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Derry, NH.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Mary Ellen, in 2005.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude and appreciation to his daughter, Caren, the last several years providing Frank with wonderful loving care and great affection.
Family members include daughters Caren, Nancy, sons, Michael and Scott. Grandchildren Chet, Katie, Jeff, Allison, Karma and one great-granddaughter, Gianna.
Services: Memorial celebration will be held Saturday, May 6 at 1:30 PM at the Church of The Transfiguration located at 1 Hood Road in Derry, NH. His ashes will be scattered at sea along with his wife, Mary Ellen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of The Transfiguration general fund.
