He was born in Salem, MA, 1947 and grew up in Lynn, MA. After graduating from Lynn English High School in 1965, he continued his education at Wentworth Institute and Fitchburg State College. Fred was a STEM teacher at Triton Regional School in Byfield, MA, for 30 years, 1976-2006. He is predeceased by his mother, Charlotte Poitras Carne, and his father Robert M. Carne. Fred lived a full and happy life: husband, brother, friend, uncle, teacher, woodworker, musician, and mentor. Loving the outdoors, he and his wife Moe had many shared adventures traveling on skis, bicycles, boots, sailboats and kayaks to far off places. Always willing to share a story, he was loved for his wit, passion for all of his pursuits, his dear friends and family, and for his kind and gentle heart.
Fred’s wishes to be cremated were honored and the family will plan a celebration of life sometime in the Spring or Summer.
Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Hampton.
After retirement, Fred volunteered for several years at the Adaptive Snow Sports Program at Waterville Valley, NH.
