Frederick E.L. Lewis, 86, of Salisbury, NH passed away peacefully at the Granite VNA Hospice House Monday December 25, 2023 surrounded by family.

Fred was born in Richford, VT on October 17, 1937 to the late Ladd and Doris Lewis and was educated locally. He joined the Vermont Army National Guard shortly after high school and enjoyed a successful career having retired as a Staff Sergeant with the 3/172 Mountain Infantry Company. Fred fully retired at the age of 83 to care for his ailing wife. In Fred’s early years, he could be found volunteering in his son Scott’s Cub Scouts pack and at the Derry and Weare BMX tracks, fishing, running, and cycling. Later, Fred enjoyed watching military documentaries, the Celtics and Patriots, and listening to his favorite singer, Elvis Presley. Fred was a Knight with the Concord Knights of Columbus and a devoted member of Christ the King parish in Concord.

Fred is survived by his son Scott Lewis and his wife, Krista, grandchildren Austin Lewis, Kayley Lewis, all of Salisbury, NH; his daughter Dureen Weston, and sons Kevin and Kirk Benjamin of Vermont; his brother John Lewis and sisters Donna Gervais and Dianne Pilon of Vermont, and sister Judy Mayo of New York; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. He was predeceased by his wife Annette, brother Francis Lewis, and sister Barbara Emch.
