Frederick Elmore Rogers, of Bedford, formerly of Manchester and Goffstown, passed away on April 18, 2017 at the age of 96 after living a long life full of kindness, generosity and love. He was born in Goffstown, NH on July 11, 1920 to Herbert Rogers and Ethel (Worden) Rogers.
Frederick proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, spending time on the front in both North Africa and Italy. After his discharge from the army, Frederick began working as an industrial chemist at Groval Manufacturing, where he worked for many years prior to his retirement.
In his earlier life, Frederick loved to walk, and talk, with anybody he met along his journey. His walks would often last two or three hours, as he loved being outdoors. Frederick was an active contributor to the VFW and American Legion organizations. He also coached Little League baseball in Goffstown. One of Frederick's favorite pastimes was to watch and listen to several of the rock bands that his son, Richard, performed with over the years. Frederick was also very devoted to his wife, Claire, until her passing in 2003. He loved to laugh, and his sense of humor was infectious. He was one of the most gentle and generous individuals, always offering to help friends and neighbors in need. Those who met and knew him will surely miss his friendly and giving personality.
Frederick leaves behind his son, Richard Rogers and Daughter-in-Law Sandra Rogers, of Manchester, NH; Grandsons Karl Rogers and Gregory Rogers, both of Manchester, NH; and Granddaughter Emily (Rogers) Dyer, and her husband, Adam Dyer, of Litchfield, NH. Frederick also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Frederick was predeceased by his wife, Claire (Plourde) Rogers in 2003. He was also predeceased by his brothers Thelbert and John, both of Goffstown, NH; and sister Thelma (Rogers) Graham, of Lancaster, NH.
Frederick will be inurned privately at the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later time at the convenience of the family.
