Friedlinde Woll Gross-Sims, born October 31, 1946, passed away in her home on June 18th, 2023, surrounded by her loving children. ‘Omi’, as she was known by her children and grandchildren, was known for her complete dedication to her family, always providing them with all she could physically and emotionally. They were her life, and she was so proud.
Omi had an energy that could not be ignored. She would light up any room with her laugh, sense of humor, and ability to make you feel loved. She loved to be noticed with her bright clothes, funky glasses, and colorful jewelry. She connected with her children and grandchildren so deeply as to create an unbreakable bond. She listened, gave advice, but always loved unconditionally. This relationship with her was and always will be a treasure.
Mom could be characterized by family, fun and faith. She cared deeply for every member of her family, and that care also extended to friends, co-workers, any she came in contact with. From her direct children to the residents of Langdon Place, mom made you feel loved and affirmed. She believed in God’s goodness, and sought to spread that goodness to all she met.
