Gage Short Guptill, 82, died June 20, 2026, at Riverside Rest Home in Dover, NH. She was born on November 26, 1943, in Newburyport, MA, the daughter of Harold and Anne Short.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Guptill, Sr., who she was married to for 55 years. She was also predeceased by her sister, Joyce Tolman.
She graduated from Newburyport High School. After graduation, she spent time working in banking. After banking she was employed as bookkeeper at Cado Fabrications until her retirement.
Gage raised her family in Amesbury, MA, before moving to Newton, NH. She spent many years involved in scouting with her husband and sons. After her retirement, she traveled all over the country with her husband to many naval reunions. Gage and Paul made many friends from their adventures.
In her retirement, she was also able to spend more time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren which gave her immense pleasure. She enjoyed reading. especially Danielle Steel books.
Gage is survived by her sons, Paul Jr., Harold and his wife, Kathy, Patrick and his wife, Rebecca, grandchildren Jamie, Meagan, Alexander, Adryan and wife, Hillary, Elizabeth and husband, Cody, Issac, Joshua and wife, Serina, Harold II, Nicole, Patrick Jr and partner Nate, Logan, Casey. Great Grand Children, Kaiya, Alana, Oliver, Emmett, Camden, Cadi, Charlotte, Grayson, Benjamin, Brayden and Camden.
SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, it has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial contributions to your favorite charity, in memory of Gage.
