Gary R. OBrien Nashua, NH Age 67 of Amherst, died Wednesday October 19th at St. Josephs Hospital in Nashua. He was born November 15, 1937 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the Son of Harry and Ruth (Bennett) OBrien. He was raised and educated in Round Lakes, NY. He graduated from Shenendehoah High School Class of 1955. He attended Cornell University Class of 1959. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and flew many missions during that time. He later served in the Air National Guard, and had achieved the rank of Captain. Mr. OBrien had been a navigator for both Seaboard World & Capitol Airlines from 1969 1970. He had worked for General Electric in Pittsfield, MA for several years. He recently retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 35 years of service. He worked for the FAA in Albuquerque, NM, Portland, OR, and Boston Center in Nashua, NH where he retired. While still living in Loudon, NH he and his wife Carol attended Sonlight Christian Fellowship Church, and Mr. OBrien had served as the Webmaster for the church. He had been an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau in the 1980s. He was a Justice of The Peace, and a paralegal. While living in Amherst, he performed with the Amherst Town Players in the 1980s, and was active with the Boy Scouts of America there. He was also very active with the Amherst Rescue Squad as an EMT. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol M. (Henchey) OBrien of Amherst. 3 Sons; Joseph P., Christopher M. both of Amherst and Michael D. of Jersey City, NJ. Daughter, Jennifer R. OBrien of Merrimack and Grandson Patrick M. OBrien. Calling hours are Wednesday October 26th at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire 243 Hanover Street Manchester from 3:30 4:30 PM.
