Gary R Tewksbury Sr, 71, of Penacook passed away on November 6 from Cardiac Arrest and Aplastic Anemia.
He was born in Concord October 16, 1951. He lived in Penacook his entire life. He graduated from Merrimack Valley High School in 1971. He entered the Army November 16, 1971, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. He received his Honorable discharge November 16, 1977. He would serve in the Army Reserves and later serve in the NH Army National Guard.
He was previously employed by City of Concord Highway Department, Waste Management and NETC. He also ran and rented out his Commercial One Ton Trucks.
He traveled to Arizona, Las Vegas, Negril Jamaica. He even drove across country once. He would, however, discover his True Pastime on vacation in Maine - Deep Sea Fishing. Before the Pandemic and his failing health, he would go about six plus times a season. During his time at home, he enjoyed watching Police and Detective Shows: Chicago PD, Blue Bloods, Chicago Fire, Columbo and Monk. Also, Sitcoms Two and a Half Men, Mike & Molly, Seinfeld, The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. It wasn't the same as Fishing, but he was grateful for all the choices he had. He was a grateful man who really liked to help others especially his friends.
Gary was predeceased by his Parents Rita S. Tewksbury, Russell F. Tewksbury Jr, His Brother Randy L. Tewksbury, Close Friend Douglas Cochrane, and his Golden Retriever who lived 11 years.
He is survived by his Son and Caregiver Gary R Tewksbury Jr, Daughter Gretchen Tewksbury, Close Friend Paul Vera Sr, Close Friends Brenda and Robert Demary, and Nurse/Friend Sara Godkin, as well as Cousins, Aunts and Uncles.
Graveside Services will be held at 12:30 on Monday. November 21st at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Granite VNA Hospice 30 Pillsbury Street Concord NH 03301 or www.granitevna.org/donate.
