Gene "Genie" Woodworth, 79 August 29, 1930 – December 27, 2009 Antrim, NH Gene Laverne Woodworth (79) of Antrim, NH died Sunday, December 27, 2009, peacefully with her husband by her side at the Concord Hospital. Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Genie was a kind, loving, caring woman who loved her family, friends, and NASCAR. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She will be remembered and treasured in our hearts always. We love you Grandma Gene! Genie met and married Woody, the love of her life for the past 60 years while attending Slippery Rock State Teachers College. As a wife to a soccer and gymnastics coach and mother to six athletes she attended and cheered at hundreds of completions and games. Genie was an exceptional swimmer and she taught fitness and swimming classes for White Plains Recreation, YWCA, and the Physical Fitness Institute. She was a long standing volunteer with the American Red Cross (30 years), North Salem Ambulance Corp and the Gregg Lake Association. She loved to swim, garden, sew, hunt and fish. She is survived by her loving husband for over 60 years, Fred "Woody" Woodworth; daughter Diann and her husband Steve; son Brad and his wife Diana; daughter Roxann and her husband Mike; son Bret and his wife Lorra; son Bart and his wife Joanne; son Brik and his wife Mimi; grandchildren Kevin, Brian, Shawna, Michael, Jonathan, David, Diana, Samantha, Kyle and Tyler; great-grandchildren Jesse, Olivia, William, Josey and Griffin; son and daughter-in-law Doug and Martha; and her dachshund, Babe. A celebration of Genie's life will be held later this summer at Gregg Lake with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
