George F. Burtt, 72, of Albany, NH, died October 22, 2002 at Maine Medical Center following a heart attack. Mr. Burtt was born in Medford, MA and grew up in Winchester, MA. He was the son of the late William H. (Sr.) and Muriel (Crosby) Burtt. He was a manufacturing manager working for C. A Lund & Co.(Laconia, NH), ITT (Kezar Falls, ME), Carroll Industries and J V Components(Conway, NH) and for G. H. Bass & Co.(Berlin, NH & Wilton, ME). He enjoyed the challenges of manufacturing in spite of foreign competition. Mr. Burtt enjoyed natural beauty. He traveled and camped in Alaska and extensively in the western states. He hiked in the summer and fall. He loved to snowmobile in winter and had been active in the White Mountain Trail Club since its founding in 1974. He had served on the Albany School Committee and Planning Board. The family includes his wife, Marion(Webber), a daughter, Joyce Whiting of Manchester, NH, a son, Steven Burtt of Grantham, NH, a sister, Ena Stiff of Bellingham,WA, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William H. Burtt, Jr. There will be a Memorial Reception on Tuesday, October 29th from 2:00 until 3:00 with a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire Chapel.
