George Arthur Flanders, 94, passed away on November 15, 2021 at the Granite VNA Hospice House of Concord after a lengthy illness. George was born in Boscawen on August 18th, 1927 to the late Arthur and Ruth (Hoit) Flanders. He was the husband of Rita (Perkins) Flanders. They were married on September 27, 1947. George attended Franklin area schools in his youth. He worked at Brezner Tannery in Penacook for 43 years until in closed. He worked at Riverside Millwork for a few years after. He resided in Boscawen until his death.
He ran the Flanders bowling league for 45 years. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, fixing cars, working around the house, hunting, and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son George A. Flanders Jr, a grandson Keith A. Griffin of Penacook and his son-in-law Steven Austin.
George is survived by his wife of 74 years, Rita Flanders, he is also survived by his daughter Toni Austin of Franklin, his grandchildren William Griffin of Boscawen, George Griffin of Salisbury, Stephanie Austin of Henniker, two step grandchildren Karen Bucka and Kevin Austin of Virginia, his great grandchildren Johnathan Jacob, Andrea, Connor, Parker and Calley. He also leaves behind two great-great granddaughters. A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, November 29th from 4 to 5:30 with a memorial service to follow at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street, Boscawen, NH.
