George Wallace Gleason age 92, born in Everett, MA passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, Tilton, NH.
He served 20+years in the United States Air Force as Technical Sergeant (TSgt) where he worked as an Explosive Ordnance Technician and Weather Specialist. After his Air Force retirement, he resided in Center Tuftonboro, NH for over 50 years. He loved repairing and fixing things such as computers, VCR’s or just about any kind of electronics one could put in front of him. He also enjoyed carpentry and working with a vast array of tools stored in his barn. He liked taking pictures of animals, especially the deer and bear that would forage in his backyard. George had a fond love for dogs, especially his 2 Black Labradors, Jade, and Amber and their last dog Buckwheat who he treasured dearly. He also would make sure he had dog biscuits for the neighbor’s dogs when they came to visit. He loved listening to a variety of music and watching old movies. He enjoyed reminiscing about his military career and travels.
He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis (Kroeger) Gleason of Center Tuftonboro, NH, currently residing at the New Hampshire Veterans Home Tilton, NH. His son and daughter-in-law, are George A. and Sharon Gleason of Hudson, NH; Daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Donald Dessert of Bridgewater, NH; Son, Eric Gleason of Center Tuftonboro, NH; Daughter-In-Law, Tabitha Terry of Myrtle Beach, SC.
He has 8 grandchildren: Mandy Hotovy, husband Justin of Big Sky, Montana; Katherine Siler, husband Wes of Navarre, FL; Jennifer Gleason of Hudson, NH; Christopher Gleason of Rocky Hill, CT; Matthew Gleason of Ballston Lake, NY; Kristin Kucel, husband Danny of Ambridge, PA; Stephen Gleason, wife Sara of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Samuel Gleason, wife Calye of Shalimar, FL.
He has 5 Great grandchildren: Samantha and Noah Siler of Navarre, FL; Gideon Ogando of Hudson, NH and Charleigh and Ryleigh Gleason of Myrtle Beach, SC.
He is predeceased by his parents George Wallace and Marguerite Gleason and his son John Gleason.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud of his 4 children and grandchildren and thought the world of his great grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by all who know him and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be announced by the family and set for a later date this fall.
