Our Brother George N. Groblewski Sr., 67, of Bradford, New Hampshire, departed this life Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
As he wished he passed peacefully in his cozy woods cabin home, surrounded by loved ones. George was raised in Billerica, Massachusetts. He also lived in Wrentham, Massachusetts, Indianapolis, Indiana, Maynard, Massachusetts, Sanbornton, New Hampshire, and Bradford, New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Madeline (Bibbitt) Groblewski, his father, Stephen Groblewski, mother, Frances Dennis Tomyl, brother, Stanley Groblewski, and his sisters, Darlene Riker and Sally Groblewski.
He leaves behind his daughters, Tonya Angel Nicholls and Angela Richardson, his son, George N. (Tara) Groblewski Jr., his brother, John (Diane) Groblewski, 6 grandchildren, one great grandchild on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In life George enjoyed the outdoors. He was every bit a woodsman who enjoyed a rural lifestyle. He was a career commercial painter, and in his words “a damn good one.” Known by many in his younger years as “Freebird” he embodied that ideal, and lived his life on his terms. A fierce man who brought a presence of strength, and he expected nothing less of those around him. He appreciated Native American culture, loved off roading in his Jeep, fishing, hiking, big bon-fires, good music, being around friends, and of course smoking his stuff and drinking his wine.
There will be a celebration of life for both George and Bibbett beginning at 2pm on Saturday October 12th, 2024, at their cabin in Bradford, N.H. The family invites all who knew either one of them to join them in the celebration and share a story or two. The family would love to have you and see some old friends.
