George V. Hill, 76, of Hillsboro, died on December 17, 2007. Mr. Hill was born on March 19, 1931 in Monsey, New York to the late Fred and Helen (McCall) Hill. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He attended Brick Church School in West Hempstead, New York, and graduated from Suffern High School (N.Y.) in 1951. He studied theology for a while, and took courses at Columbia University. He married Dorothy Mildred Conklin on September 17, 1955. They were both members of Grace Baptist Church in Suffern, New York until the 1970's. He was a deacon there, and taught Sunday School. He worked for Ford in Mahwah, New Jersey, and the Pearl River School District (N.Y.) as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. He had other jobs where he was in charge. In 1976, he moved his family to New Hampshire. George loved history, and studied Abraham Lincoln. His interests were many, and they included antiques, drawing, photography, reading, writing, yard sales, and building things such as actual scale miniature houses. He loved the era of the 1930's and 1940's. His favorite music was Glenn Miller. He followed Army football, and the New York Giants. George was a popular person with people of all ages, and was cherished by many. He always took the time to do what was right, and helped those around him. He loved his family, and they loved him. George V. Hill will never be replaced. He was survived by his wife Dorothy; sons, George and Nelson; and daughter Diane (formerly Dorothy); and three grandchildren, Nelson, Christopher, and Diana. Final arrangements were private. There will be a memorial service in the future.
