George H. Krygeris

George H. Krygeris

George (Jurgis) H. Krygeris, 87, of Bedford, NH, died on August 10th following a period of declining health.


George was born in Kaunas Lithuania on April 21, 1934, to August and Maria “Hoppe” Krygeris. He served our country as a Private First Class Lineman in the Army from January 1956 to May 1958, then rejoined the Army from January 1960 to January 1961 until he was honorably discharged. After his military career George worked for American Harvester. He then moved into the meat business and was employed by Foster Beef in Manchester, NH as a meat packer. He later joined Schultz’s (New Hampshire Provision) in Portsmouth where he was a Sales Supervisor, then joined Jordan’s Meats in Portland, ME as a Sales Supervisor until he retired.

George's hobbies included his love for gardening, growing flowers of every color, photography, fishing and going to the Isles of Shoals to join the Ugly Brothers from Cornell University for pig roasts. He was also active in the Boy Scouts. He loved attending family dinners, loved a good Margarita with Mexican food and spending lots of time with family.

George was survived by his family, Debby Frisella and her husband Bill of Auburn, NH, David Krygeris and his wife Patti of Center Ossipee, NH, Robert Krygeris of Rochester, NH, Nancy LeClair and her husband Jim of Rochester, NH, and Michael Krygeris and his wife Melinda of Somersworth, NH. George’s siblings include Lilly O’Dowd, Sharon Charron and her husband Daniel of Manchester, NH and Al Krygeris and his wife Mary of Washington, NH. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews who include, Mark O’Dowd of Manchester, Karen Felix, his Goddaughter, of Manchester, Stacy, Jill, Kellee, and Emilie Charron of Manchester, Jonathan Krygeris of Auburn, and Benjamin Krygeris of Hooksett. His grandchildren include Jessica and Madison LeClair, Nate and Ashley Frisella, Sean McIntyre and Sonja Krygeris. Great grandchildren include Ariana, Gianna, and Isla Frisella. He was predeceased by Peter Krygeris who was his youngest son, and Bill Krygeris who was his brother.

A memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday, August 17 from 6:00-7:30pm at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester, followed by a memorial service in the funeral home at 7:30pm. Family and friends are invited to attend.
