George E. Lane

George E. Lane, 83, loving husband of Madeline D. (Curtis) Lane passed away in his home on Friday, March 9, 2001. Mr. Lane was born in Gloucester, MA on February 7, 1918. He was the son of the late George E. and Ingeborg (Johnson ) Lane. Family members include; his wife of 63 years; three children, Judith Lane Simonds and husband Graham of Ogunquit, ME, Bruce C. Lane and wife Castania of Eliot, ME and Jacqueline Lane of Eliot, ME; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Robert G. Lane of Eliot, ME and one sister, Ruth E. Chefalo of Winchester, MA. Mr. Lane retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard after 30 years of service. He loved the outdoors, boats, bicycles and often found the trash of others as his treasure.
