George Gilman Pond, died Thursday, June 6, 2024, peacefully at his home in Middleton, NH. He was born on December 11, 1966, in Cabridge, Massachusetts, the son of William Arden Pond and Janice VanDine Pond.
He was the husband of David George Morrison, whom he married on April 24, 2010, in Wakefield, NH. He was a graduate of Plymouth State College earning a dual-bachelor’s degree in chemistry and astronomy, and was a proud Navy Veteran, as well. He was a former Planning Board member for the town of Middleton, NH, and deeply enjoyed maintaining his property in Middleton, taking great pride in his perennial gardens throughout the property. He also loved stargazing from the hill in Middleton, hockey, spending time in nature whenever he had the chance, and quality time with close friends and family.
George is survived by his beloved husband, David G. Morrison; his cherished son, Samuel M. Wolden of Middleton, NH; his sister Gina (Pond) Patten and brother-in-law Luca Patten of Meredith, NH; his brother Joseph Dewing and sister-in-law Jackie Dewing of Lynn, MA; stepbrothers John Bird and Robert Roriston and stepsisters Sara Bird and Mardy Bird of Meredith and Tuftonboro, NH; brother-in-law Roger Morrison Jr. and sister-in-law Shelby (Morris) Morrison of Woodstock, GA; nephews Lucas Patten Jr. and Christopher Rockwell of Meredith, NH and Ryan Morrison of Woodstock, GA; and niece Ava Roriston of Toftonboro, NH.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral services. There will be a Celebration of Life scheduled at a later date for loved ones to gather and pay respects at the family home in Middleton, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to the Cancer Research Institute or The Trevor Project; both causes were near and dear to his heart.
