George Wellington Richards

George Wellington Richards, 87, a resident of Meetinghouse of Riverfront in Manchester died on April 17, 2002 at Elliot Hospital. He was born July 28, 1914 in Somerville, MA the son of the late George and Ireene (Trefren) Richards. Dick spent more than 20 years working for HP Hood & Company as a route delivery man, delivering dairy products starting with a horse drawn wagon. After retiring from HP Hood & Company, he spent the next 26 years as a building inspector with Broward County, City of Margate, Florida, retiring in 1982. An avid and life long golfer, he has two holes-in-one to his credit. He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Prout of Manchester; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dick will be interred in Boxborough Massachusetts, with Pauline his wife of 60 years. Donations can be made to the SPCA of Manchester in his name in lieu of flowers.
