George E Ruff Jr

It is with great sadness to announce that George Edgar Ruff Jr., 65, of Bradford Vermont passed away on January 17th, 2024. He was a beloved member of his community known for his passion for painting, his dedication to his AA family and his unconditional love for his family and dog, Luna. George was born on October 23rd, 1958 and was preceded in death by his father, George Ruff Sr.; his mother Benita (Gilman); and his brother Timothy Ruff. He is survived by a son George Ruff III and his wife Jackie; and a daughter Cassie Marcoux, both of Concord, NH; Four brothers, Bryon Ruff; Scott Ruff; Mark Ruff and Erin Whittemore; and Arthur Ruff, all of Warner, NH; and a sister, Tina Labar of Henniker, NH; as well as many nieces and nephews including, TJ, Therasa, Kelsey, Lydia, Ella and Todd; Six grandchildren, Noah, Ethan, Sylas, Liam and Wyatt Ruff and Jared Jaco. He also leaves behind his second family in the fellowship of AA. If we tried to list even his closest friends, there would not be enough room.

George attended Kearsarge Regional High School, class of 1977. He then went on to become a small business owner and painted for many years until his passing. George was also an artist and through his art, expressed his innermost thoughts and emotions, capturing the essence of the world around him. George owned many Harley Davidson's over his lifetime and was an avid rider, going on many adventures with his bike. He touched the lives of hundreds of men and women through his message, his friendships and his ability to listen and make everyone he talked to feel heard. He planted the seed for countless numbers of struggling alcoholics to let them know that there is a path to recovery.

A ceremony to celebrate George's life will be held at a future date. Details will be announced by the family when arrangements have been made.

George will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones and the many lives he touched.
