Gerald E. Workman

Gerald E. ''Gene'' Workman, 64, of Somersworth died Saturday, October 13, 2001, following an extended battle with cancer. He was born January 6, 1937, in Thebes, Illinois, the son of the late Gerald and Nelda (Benifield) Workman.He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a retired Master Electrician, having worked many years locally through Local 490 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was a member of Moose Lodge # 443; the Dover Elks Lodge; American Legion Post # 8; and the Sportsmen’s Club of Rollinsford. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jo-An M. (Steuerwald) Workman; three sons, Michael of Apopka, Florida; Larry of Starkville, Mississippi; and James and his wife Maureen of Hampton, New Hampshire; one daughter Kelly Hubbard of Somersworth, New Hampshire; one granddaughter Nicole Workman of Hampton; one brother Phil of Lawson, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
