Gerard "Jerry" Louis Drypolcher

Jerry, a beloved husband, father, Bampy, uncle, and friend, passed away July 21, 2021, surrounded by family. A vibrant and gregarious soul adored by his family; Jerry was quick to make anyone he met smile. As a 50-year resident of Concord, NH he left a long legacy of friendship and civil service.

Born in New Mexico on January 29, 1947, Jerry was the oldest of four children, three sons and a daughter of Louis Edwin and Lucetta Berizzi Drypolcher. He was a young boy when the family moved to New Jersey and then to Greenwich, CT where he spent his formative years, many spent crewing on sailboats. As a teenager he put his sailing experience to good use, sailing J-Boats in national competitions. Jerry was a graduate of New England College (NEC) where he was involved in the formation of the first ever New England College Hockey Team. NEC has inducted all members of this team into the NEC Hockey Hall of Fame. Jerry continued his hockey days by participating, for decades, in a Concord old timer’s league. He served on the Concord Planning Board from 1988 until his retirement in 2016 where he was the chair for his last 10 years of service and was awarded the key to the city for his dedication. Jerry also enjoyed many years as an East Concord Lamplighter. He was an avid road biker, participating in over fifteen 100-mile charity rides with his wife Pamela and other family members. Jerry was a kind soul and a positive force who never met a person he could not chat-up, always leaving the experience with a new friend.

Jerry is survived by his college sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Pamela Smith Drypolcher, daughter Phyllis (Lissa) Walline, her husband Jim and grandchildren Jimmie and Emilia of Broadlands, VA, son Braden, his wife Shaelyn and twin grandsons, Ellis and Finn of Biddeford, ME, his two brothers Tony (Pat) and Brian (Piper) Drypolcher and his sister, Christina Jones, all from New Mexico, his brother-in-law Peter H. Smith and his wife Mildred of Littleton, NH and his brother-in-law Ken Weidman of Bridgewater NH, plus many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his sister-in-law Susan S. Weidman. Jerry leaves behind long-time friends Ed and Nan Welch, a multitude of neighbors, as well as many Concord and Newfound Lake friends. Jerry’s family would like to thank the care team at The Birches in Concord for the amazing support and care they provided during his stay, the dedication and love they showed will not be forgotten. Jerry was not finished living his eventful life and will be missed tremendously by immediate and extended family and friends.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date. Both Jerry and his family are dedicated to supporting the research needed to find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease, and the conservation and preservation of Newfound Lake’s natural, social, and economic resources.
