Gerard A. Gagnon, 81, of 21 North River Road, died at his residence on August 22, 2009 surrounded by family and friends following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Manchester on April 2, 1928, the son of Frank and Eva (Nadeau) Gagnon and had lived in Bedford for a number of years before moving back to Manchester. He worked for the Prudential Insurance Company, retiring after over thirty years of service. He was an avid card player and also played pool on various leagues throughout Manchester. While living in Bedford, he would spend hours working outside and feeding the local wildlife. He always had a joke to tell and no one was a stranger to him. Family members include his wife of 42 years, Gloria (Desjardins) Gagnon; four daughters, Linda Gagnon of Gardner, ME, Cindy Gagnon of Grand Prairie, TX, Wanda Visconti of Danbury, CT and Robin Sullivan of Manchester; three sons, Ricky Gagnon of TN, Michael Wayne of Milton and Preston Wayne of Bow; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial gathering will take place at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street on Saturday from 4 to 6 PM. Flowers are acceptable but donations may also be made in his memory to the VNA of Manchester and Southern NH, 33 South Commercial Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
