Gerard Goguen, BSO Trumpeter, Car Collector Gerard (Jerry) Goguen, 77, passed away Sunday, July 28 at his home in Walpole, NH. Formerly of Needham, MA, he was a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for 27 years and taught at both the New England and Boston conservatories. In addition to his career as a musician, he formed Abingdon Spares, Ltd., a mail-order company supplying classic MG parts to customers worldwide. As a sports car enthusiast, he founded and directed The Westminster MG Car Museum in Westminster, VT to house his private collection acquired over a span of 40 years. He admired the British culture and made many trips to England. Besides his love for music and classic cars, he was an avid skier and had been an instructor at Stratton Mountain, VT for the past 17 years. Surviving are his wife, Doris; a daughter, Nicole of Nahant, MA; a sister, Theresa Offredi of Guilford, CT; a brother, Clarence of Lunenburg, MA; and extended family members Mark Goodenough of Walpole, NH, Gary Booker of North Haven, CT, Christopher Nowlan of Santa Barbara, CA and Marsha and Dennis Caron of Medford, MA.
