Gerard R. Poirier

Gerard R. Poirier, 90, of Merrimack, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Gerard was born on October 8, 1932 in Rumford, ME, the son of the late Alfred Poirier and Noel (Roy) Poirier. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Eident) Poirier.

Following High School, Gerard joined the US Marine Corps, after the military he retired from Morgan Linen Services.

Family was the most important thing to Gerard; he loved spending time with all of them. In his younger years he enjoyed the outdoors, he loved bowling weekly, and football Sunday’s. He was a craftsman of woodworking, and he enjoyed many meals at the Lobster Boat for lunch.

Gerard is predeceased by his wife; Barbara (Eident) Poirier, his daughter; Linda Tenhave, his son-in-law; Luke Tenhave, his grandson; Tucker Blanchard.

He is survived by his daughters; Deborah Blanchard and her husband, Richard of New Boston, Susan Voisine and her husband Kevin of Manchester, his sons; Rene Poirier and his wife Cindy of Merrimack, Gerard Poirier Jr. and his wife Liz of Zephyrhills, FL, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on February 8th, 2023 at 10AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
