Ginette Anne (Tuxbury) Emerson-Tuxbury, 84, of Brentwood, NH, died on July 14, 2024 at Exeter Hospital. Born on December 26, 1939 in Amesbury, MA, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Carlyle Tuxbury and Madeleine (Johnson) Tuxbury. She married David McRobie Emerson on August 29, 1964 in Amesbury, MA and they had three children together. Family was very important to Ginette and she loved hosting family and friends for various events. Although divorced, Ginette remained close with her extended family and still attended many holiday and family parties. She was a well-loved Sister, Aunt, Nana, cousin, friend and Mom. Her vivacious smile and contagious laugh will surely be missed.
Ginette graduated from Amesbury High School in 1957. She earned an Associate’s degree from Vermont Junior College graduating in 1959 and furthered her education at Boston City School of Nursing, where she graduated at the top of her class in 1963. She completed her clinical with various graduate students from Harvard and Boston Universities. She loved working with people and held several different jobs over the years that captured her desire for diversity and new challenges. She left nursing to devote her full attention to caring for her children and ex-husband, David, after he had a terrible snowmobile accident. While he healed, she worked with her brother-in-law operating Kingston Enterprises, David’s business. After David returned, she went back to work exploring new roles; her positions included, video store clerk, visiting nurse for the VNA, USFS Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) Program Developer and US Census representative. She then retired to travel and spend time with family and friends.
Ginette enjoyed traveling (Japan, Bermuda, Cancun, Florida, California to name a few), attending sports events involving her children, watching and sometimes attending Patriot’s football games and Bruin’s hockey games, snowmobiling, canoeing, blueberry picking (on the farthest, buggiest side of any pond!), Lee Raceway and camping at Len and Kay’s Campground. She loved annual trips to Great Diamond Island and Lake Attitash, as well as trips across the country with her East Coast siblings to visit their West Coast siblings. Her hobbies included reading, crewel, sewing, painting, listening to music and later books on tape. She was always happiest surrounded by family and friends – listening (and contributing!) to stories of everyone’s fun and adventures.
Ginette is survived by her sister, Carol Gribbon; her eldest son, Kurt Emerson and his two sons, Caleb and Kade Emerson; her middle son, Jonathan Emerson and his two daughters, Alexi and Zoey Emerson; her daughter, Dianne (Emerson) Timmins and husband, Andrew Timmins, and their daughter, Ashley Timmins; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews spanning across the country that she loved visiting. She thoroughly enjoyed listening to all of her friends and family’s adventures. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Sylvia English, and her brother, David Tuxbury.
A Celebration of Life will be held this Fall. Details to follow.
