Gloria Poitras

Gloria A. Poitras died March 27, 2023 at Granite VNA Hospice House, Concord, after a lengthy illness and complications from COVID.

She was born in Newfield, NH on April 6, 1937, the daughter of the late Arthur R. Strong, Sr. and Doris (Waterman) Strong. She was raised in Derry and attended the Derry school district. Gloria worked as a nanny and at Pandora and Derry Shoe.

Gloria and her late husband, Joseph Fruci, settled in Londonderry to raise his four children and enjoy life together until his passing. In 1985, she married Ernest Poitras. They enjoyed travelling, flea markets, entertaining family and friends, and going to casinos all around the United States.

Gloria is survived by her two sisters, Brenda Strong and her partner, Karen Simpson of Laconia, Nancy Ware and husband, Clarence of Chester; a special niece, Cindy Therrien, who was like a daughter; two step-sons, Paul and Allen Fruci; two sister-in-laws, Kernie Strong and Donna McInnis; brother-in-law, Howard Davis; grandson, Joseph Fruci; and many nieces, and nephews.

Gloria was predeceased by her infant son at birth; father and his wife, Arthur and Martha Strong; mother and her husband, Doris Hauster and Carl; two husbands, Joseph Fruci and Ernest Poitras; two sisters, Joan Davis and Joyce Hartz; two brothers, Arthur Strong, Jr. and Philip Strong, Sr.; three step-brothers, Arnold, Fred, and Norman McInnis; two step-children, Joseph Fruci, Jr. and Carol Braley.

Arrangements: Gloria will be laid to rest at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, on April 17, at 9:00A.M.
