Gordon Deering Paul, 99, of Bedford NH, died peacefully on September 8 at Ridgewood Center in Bedford NH. He was born in Quincy, MA to Elsie Paul Heinlein and Arthur W. Paul on October 13, 1916. He graduated from Melrose High School and Burdett College and continued studies at Northeastern University. After 32 yeas as an accountant for Sun Oil Company in Revere, MA, he moved from Reading, MA to Bedford, NH where he then became a real estate broker for several years.
He was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church and was the auditor for several years. He was past treasurer of the Bedford Unity Club and Blue Seas Investment Club as well as a member of the Bedford Historical Society and Friends of the Library.
Gordon enjoyed woodworking and restoring antiques as well as being a personal accountant. He also spent many enjoyable summers at the family camp at Baboosic Lake.
Family members include his wife of 74 years, Ruth (Nesmith) Paul of Bedford, a son David N. Paul of Merrimack, NH, and two daughters, Jane Paul of Merrimack, NH and Anne Duclos of Bedford, NH. He had six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is predeceased by one grandson and a brother.
