Grace was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 23, 1921, the second oldest of nine siblings. After raising her family on Long Island, NY she retired to Salisbury, NH with her husband, Walter, in 1974. Grace loved her life in Salisbury and loved all the people she met and they loved her. Grace lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed travelling and visited Europe, Canada, and states across the USA. In her later years, Grace enjoyed Sunday rides in the country, dinners out, and a glass of wine.
Grace was a member of the Salisbury Congregational Community Church. She was Supervisor of the Checklist for several years, participated in Old Home Day activities and volunteered at the Franklin Regional Hospital for 34 years. At the age of 93, she was the recipient of the Merrimack County Vaughan Award for her years of service and attended a reception hosted by then Governor Maggie Hassan at the State House in Concord. Grace will be remembered for her sharp wit, quick retorts and sense of humor.
Nothing was more important to Grace than her beloved family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was the matriarch of our family and will be deeply missed.
Grace was pre-deceased by her husband, Walter, a daughter, Donna Sheridan of Virginia Beach, VA and granddaughter Maeg Anderson of York Harbor, ME.
She is survived by a daughter Carole Clifford (Michael) of Killington, VT, a son Robert Anderson (Cathy) of York Harbor, ME, a son-in-law, Phillip Sheridan of Virginia Beach, VA, four grandchildren, Julie Ormsby (Dan), of South Bend, IN, Erin Sheridan of Virginia Beach, VA, Rory Anderson of Philadelphia, PA, and Conall Anderson of Denver, CO, two sisters Joan Jones of Bedford, NH and Dorothy Becker of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, two sisters-in-law, Gerry Hutson Moore of Bushnell, FL and Mickey Hutson of Washingtonville, NY, several nieces and nephews and two grand dogs, Riptide and Poutine.
