Graham S. Wakefield

Graham Sean Wakefield died suddenly on February 25, 2016 after a brief illness. He collapsed at home after a severe bout of flu. He was 24.

Graham spent his childhood on the family farm in Rochester and at his grandmother's house in Durham. He first attended Isabella Linsky's nursery school, then a combination of the Oyster River schools and homeschooling before graduating from Oyster River High School in 2010.

Graham showed a strong aptitude for technology at a very young age and was fortunate to have been encouraged by many adults in school, at work, and in life. He developed strong technical and artistic skills and was primarily self-employed. He took great joy in co-creating festivals, celebrations and events as a technical expert in sound, projection, and lighting.

Co-workers described Graham as a fantastic individual and a genius at what he did, giving generously of his time, energies and talents like no one they had ever seen to create magical happenings. Graham was known for lighting up events and the lives of those who knew him and worked with him. He leaves many friends and collaborators.

He is survived by his mother Julia Griewank of Durham, his father John Wakefield of Rochester, and extended family including aunts Susan Wakefield and Jean Wakefield, uncle David Wakefield, and several cousins. Graham is also survived by Albert K. Carbonneau, Gus Hedden, and his godfather, Shadrach Christopolous. He was pre-deceased by all his grandparents. A celebration of Graham's life is tentatively planned for the summer.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Cremation Society of New Hampshire.
