Grant Lawrence Dyer

Grant L. Dyer, 71, of Penacook, NH passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on March 30th, 2025 with his loving wife, Jana, and their children by his side.

Grant was born in Franklin, NH on April 25th, 1953 to Mary L. Anderson.

Grant was a highschool graduate. He attended Belmont, Franklin, and the Merrimack Valley School Districts.

Grant worked harvesting sod for many years in both NH and AZ. Grant enjoyed landscaping while in Arizona. Upon returning to NH, he worked at Tuckahoe turf Farms. He earned his CDL and finished as an owner-operator hauling turf. He started his own business and was self-employed, driving a tractor trailer for 7 years. Grant went to work at Elektrisola Inc. to spend more time with his family where he retired after 26 years.

Grant enjoyed many things, first and foremost was his family. He loved the life he built with Jana and their children, Phillip and Tessa. Grant married Jana on June 16th, 1980. He always reminisced on the fun they shared throughout their three year honeymoon, living in Arizona and traveling throughout the Western United States. Grant loved the western countryside with all its beauty. During the Summer he loved to visit the ocean where he spent a lot of time with his wife and children. Some of his favorite pastimes were motorcycle riding, going to the gym, gardening, and camping with his kids. Grant enjoyed good music, cooking on the grill, and visiting with family and friends.

Grant was an active grandfather. The grandkids will remember him as a supportive and loving grandfather. He made them breakfast and enjoyed eating with them, playing games (he was a great Yahtzee player), running with them outside, swimming, or sitting with them and relaxing watching cartoons from his childhood. He enjoyed his grandkids, loved spending time and laughing with them.

Grant is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 45 years, Jana L. (Malcolm) Dyer. He was a loving father to his son, Phillip G. Dyer and his daughter, Tessa A. Mancini and her husband Russell J. Mancini, who Grant considered a son. He leaves behind four grandsons Nikolai, Alexei, Reid, and Rory, who cherished and adored their grandfather as much as he cherished them. Grant also leaves behind a large extended family who loved him dearly.

He was pre-deceased by his mother, Mary Anderson, his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Patricia Malcolm, brother-in-laws Jay P. Malcolm, David W. Malcolm and niece, Desiree Dyer.

It was important to Grant to be the best version of himself that he could be. Grant led with his values. Grant found peace in the small things in life. He respected nature. Grant was humble, always being kind and gentle, in both his speech and actions. Grant was willing to help anyone who needed it. He was supportive, generous with his time, and welcoming to everyone. Grant will always be remembered for the love and compassion he showed everyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the Granite Visiting Nurses Association for the compassionate, supportive care given.
