Greg Allsop of Concord, NH, passed away on Thursday February 10, 2022 with his family by his side after a short but hard fought battle with an illness.
Born March 27, 1957 in Seattle, WA, he was the son of Rosemary Allsop and the late Leonard Allsop .Len & Ro, as they were known to family and friends, raised Greg and his siblings Pam and Jeff in Fairfield, CT. In the 70’s while attending Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield. Greg joined his first band and met his closest friend of 50 years, Curt Angell. It was music and friendship that led Greg to meet the love of life, Mary Ann Campbell, in a butler’s pantry on St. Patrick’s Day 1979, moments before they were to be introduced by Curt and his wife Marylou.
Greg and Mary Ann married in 1981 and had two children, Lindsay and Bryan. In 1986 Greg moved his family from Milford CT to Concord, NH and began a 25-year career as a quality engineer at Osram Sylvania, he would later work as a Business Systems Analysis at the State of NH.
While raising his family, he cultivated a passion for coaching youth sports. Concord American Little League, Pop Warner Football, and Concord Youth Soccer were just a few of his favorites.
His love of music influenced many aspects of his life. Greg was a drummer in a number of bands over the years, most recently as a member of the Strings and Things Band. His time playing with the band Lazy Bones was by far his most favorite, after a 40 year hiatus the band recently reunited. Anyone who knew Greg knew of his love of vinyl records, vintage drums and The Band.
He leaves behind his loving wife and companion of 40 years, Mary Ann Allsop; his children and greatest admirers, Bryan Allsop and his wife Laura Brennan of Brighton, MA, and Lindsay Allsop and her husband Shawn Kelley of Concord, NH and his grand dogs Hazel and Papa; mother Rosemary Allsop, brother Jeff Allsop and wife Melita, and sister Pam Scullin, all of Milford, CT, his mother in law Joan Campbell of August ME, father in law Fred Campbell of Wallingford, VT, sister in law Kathleen Campbell of Augusta ME and brother in law Tom Campbell of Clinton CT.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday February 26, 2022 from 12:30pm-2:30pm at the Kimball Jenkins Estate in Concord, NH. Memorial donations in memory of Greg may be made to the Concord Little League, checks can be mailed to Concord Little League, 75 S. Main St,
