Gregory Duane Hogan Jones, 68, died December 16, 2020 at his home in Hooksett, NH. He was born on August 21, 1952 in Washington, D.C., the son of Willis McKinley Jones Sr. and Veronica Isilda Hogan Jones.
He was the husband of Loretta (Lee) Jones. They were married on December 27, 1975 in Manchester, NH.
After graduating from Manchester Memorial High School in June 1970, he attended the United States Air Force Academy from 1970 to 1972. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from New Hampshire College in 1985 before enlisting in the United States Army, where he served on active duty until 1989. He went on to attend the University of Virginia School of Law and graduated in 1992 before returning to New Hampshire, where he practiced law for 20 years. In 2012, he left his law practice behind to seek the fulfillment of being paid to travel the open roads as a truck driver.
Greg enjoyed hiking the White Mountains, hunting, and traveling. He was an accomplished musician and a talented songwriter. He loved all types of music but had a particular affinity for The Beatles. His true passions, however, were God and family. He was a faithful member of Bedford Road Baptist Church in Merrimack, NH, where he served as an elder and helped to lead the music and children's ministries. His selflessness and commitment were most evidenced in the unending devotion he showed to his wife, siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Greg was predeceased by both of his parents, three brothers (Hayden Jones, Ronald Jones, and Willis Jones Jr.), and his nephew (Jerramy Jones).
He is survived by his wife, his children (Micah and Breyanna), a daughter-in-law (Val Jones), a son-in-law (Ryan Desmarais), three grandchildren (Jordin, Grant, and Alethia), two brothers (Kevin Jones and Paul Jones), a sister (Monica Jones), and many nieces and nephews.
Due to current travel restrictions, services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
