Gwen Callahan

Gwen Callahan, 94, of Hampton, NH passed away peacefully on May 18, 2022 surrounded by her four daughters and one son-in-law at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, NH.

Gwen was born in Amesbury, MA on February 26, 1928, she was the only child of George and Carolyn (Hadley) Joubert.

Gwen shared 49 years of marriage with her late husband, Matthew J. Callahan, Jr. who passed away in 1996.

Gwen grew up in Hampton, NH and graduated from Hampton Academy.  She later attended Burdett College, Boston, MA.

Gwen and her husband lived in Exeter, NH and later retired to Port Charlotte, Florida.  After her husband's death, Gwen returned to NH where she lived with her oldest daughter & son-in-law until her passing.

Gwen is survived by her four daughters, Karen Jones (Kenneth), Diane Pinkham, Carol Callahan and Gayle Adams (Michael).  She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Mark Pinkham, Chris Adams, Kelly Jones, Andrew Jones and Brian Callahan.  In addition, Gwen had four great-grandchildren, Kylee, Ryan & Cole Pinkham and Lily Adams. 

ARRANGEMENTS: Gwen will be laid to rest at the Exeter Cemetery, 49 Linden Street, Exeter on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00AM.
