With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gwendolyn Ann (Penny) Mayo, 72, of Plaistow, NH. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones following a period of failing health on Sunday, April 5.

Penny was born, raised and educated in Plaistow. She was the daughter of the late Clinton W. and Pearl (Raymond) Senter.

In addition to her parents, Penny was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford, John, Robert, Clinton Senter and daughter-in-law Tracey Mayo.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 54 years, William I. “Billy” Mayo, Sr., her sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Tony Riccio, sister-in-law Linda Senter, her daughter and son-in-law Tiffany and Dana Rabito, her son Wayne, her step-son William Jr and wife Kathy Mayo, step-daughter Beth and husband Joe Simanonnok, step-daughter Jennifer Prescott and step-son Tim and wife Mandy, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, several sisters and brothers-in-law, several nieces and nephews.

Penny loved her daily coffee coolatta, watching her “soaps”, Red Sox games, collecting anything related to elephants and watching the birds outside her window, which she made sure were very well fed!

The family would like to recognize Medisys, the hospice service staff, who all took such amazing care of Penny during this very challenging time. We are so grateful to all of you.

There will be no public service, but we encourage friends and loved ones to remember Penny in their hearts and share stories that celebrate her life.
