HANS J. WENTRUP
Hooksett, NH--Hans J. Wentrup, age 77, longtime resident of Hooksett, NH, passed away December 6, 2014, after a period of declining health. He was born in Berlin, Germany in June of 1937 to the late Gunther and Rudna (Breves) Wentrup.
Hans was educated in Zuoz, Switzerland and Hildesheim, Germany, and came to the United States in 1960 to continue his education. He attended and graduated St. Anselm's College, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then completed his Masters Degree at the University of New Hampshire's Whittemore School of Business in Durham, New Hampshire. Hans was Senior Economist for the Public Service Company of New Hampshire for many years, and later was Founder and President of New England Econometrics and Lexika, Inc. He acted as a consultant to New England Business Magazine, providing regular economic updates for the New England Region and the United States. Previously, Hans was involved with the Town of Hooksett Budget Committee and was Chairman for many years. He was an avid car and jazz enthusiast and enjoyed traveling and dining out. He was also talented in the kitchen, enjoying German cooking in particular.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Anna (Arghyrou); daughter, Heidi; son Hans A. Wentrup and his wife, Maia; grandsons Connor and Preston; brother Dr. Gerhard Wentrup of Hanover, Germany and his wife, Jutta; sister-in-law Lenia Michael and her husband, Phaethon of Toronto, Canada; brother-in-law Christopher Arghyrou and his wife Mary of London, UK; and many beloved nieces and nephews in Germany, the United Kingdom and Canada.
On Saturday, December 13th there will be a gathering to celebrate his life from 9am to 11am at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester with a memorial service starting at 10am.
