Harold E Dunton, Jr.

Harold Edwin Dunton, fondly known as "The Amazing Hal" and "Dink," passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, at the age of 90 at the Bedford VA Hospital. Born December 25th 1933. Harold lived most recently in Georgetown, MA, where he touched the lives of many with his humor and kindness. 

After high school Harold enlisted in the US Army. He served as a specialist 3rd class from January 11th 1956 to December 21st 1959. A dedicated professional, Harold spent 30 years at IBM followed by a decade with Meals on Wheels, where he demonstrated his commitment to service and community.

He was a proud father to Travis Dunton and wife Donna Dunton, Pamela Carrozza and late husband Steve Carrozza, Noelle Heil and husband Duane Heil, as well as a loving grandfather to Alex Dunton, Giana Carrozza, Joshua Heil, and Ryan Heil, and a great-grandfather to Lainey Heil. His family was his proudest accomplishment, and his legacy of love will live on through them. 

Harold had a passion for reading and baseball, and he found great joy in painting, planting flowers, swimming, singing, and playing ball with his family. He loved all the old musicals, with Frank Sinatra being his favorite artist, and enjoyed watching shows like Magnum PI and Blue Bloods. Harold had a particular fondness for seafood and chocolate, which brought him happiness. 

A curious soul, he embraced learning and often asked questions, embodying a simple and easygoing nature. His sense of humor was his superpower, and he loved to crack jokes that brought smiles to those around him. Harold believed in the importance of doing the right thing, a motto that guided his life. 

He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Sheila Dunton, and his sister, Nancy Selvo, nieces Paula and Karen and nephew Kevin. Harold will be remembered for his strength, resilience, devotion, and unwavering love for his family. His impact on the lives of others will not be forgotten, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
