Harold Edison Knight

Harold E. Knight, 71, of 51 A French Mill Road, Hollis, NH died on March 6, 2001 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA after a lengthy illness. Mr.Knight was born in Plymouth, MA on November 6, 1929. He attended local schools, graduating for Plymouth High School. He then moved to Nashua in 1954 and then to Hollis in 1995 when he fully retired. Mr. Knight was married to Rolande L. (Jalbert) Knight for 47 years. Most of Mr. Knight's work career involved police and security. He joined the Nashua Police Department in 1958, retiring after 27 years. Following, he worked for the Pheasant Lane Mall for 8 years, retiring again as Chief of Security. He also served two years in the Army in the early 1950's stationed in postwar Europe. Mr. Knight enjoyed sports of all kinds. He played semiprofessional football in the late 1940's, baseball and softball in the 1960's and 1970's in city leagues and recently, horseshoes in the Nashua Horseshoe League at Greely Park. He also enjoyed gardening and wintering in Florida. Locally, besides his wife, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Julie) Jean of Hollis and Mrs. Arthur (Paula) Johnson of Nashua; two brothers, William (Beverly) Craw of Plymouth, MA and Raymond (Elaine) Craw of Uxbridge, MA; one sister, Mrs. Sam (Frances) Zaffiro of Worcester, MA; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes there will be on visiting hours. The family requests no flowers.
