HAROLD WILLIAM LIBBY, SR.
FREEDOM, NH -- Harold William Libby Sr., 72, of Freedom died Saturday April 25th after a long battle with lung cancer. His last weeks were spent surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Diana (Bodwell) Libby whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born March 9, 1948 in Porter, Maine. He was the son of the late William (Bill) and Frances (Woodman) Libby. He was raised in Freedom where he spent his childhood working his family farm, enjoying leading draft horses most of all. He left for a short time then returned to spend most of his adult life in Freedom.
He had many jobs in Freedom. As a young adult he did house painting, including several historical, of which he was very proud. In the 1970's he started hauling trash for neighbors and over the next 40 years grew this business into Libby's Recycling.
He had a love for the outdoors and a passion for fishing. He spent many hours and many miles sharing this love with his family members in search for brook trout.
Besides his loving wife he is survived by his daughter Lorelei DeNisco RN and her husband James DeNisco, his son Harold William Libby Jr. and his wife Virginia (Drew) Libby. He is also survived by three grandchildren Nicole Beulieau, Harold William Libby III, Nicholas Libby, and great granddaughter Aerilyn Beaulieu. He is survived by sisters Velma Abbott, Linda Talman, Nancy Eastman, Jo-ann Lemieux, brother Robert Libby, as well as by several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
