BOSCAWEN - Harold Earl Pickard, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Concord Hospital. He was born March 5, 1927, in Canterbury, the son of Arthur and Jennie (Sargent) Pickard. He lived in Boscawen for 23 years, previously living in Concord. He was postmaster in Penacook and later in Holderness until retiring. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Cecile I. (Nadeau) Pickard; three children, Michael Pickard, Paulette Lahey and Donna Douillette; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He came from a family of 12 siblings, nine still surviving. Services will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the chapel of the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
