Harriet E. Kisser, 84, of Campton, N.H. died peacefully in the company of family and friends on Tuesday, October 2nd at Speare Memorial Hospital due to complications from a stroke. Harriet was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 16, 1923, daughter of Corine (Rosin) and Harry Johanson. She graduated from Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn.

Harriet worked in Manhattan as a bank clerk for several years before marrying Walter Kisser, her husband of 62 years, in 1944 while he was home on leave from WWII. After the war, Harriet and Walter resided in Queens Village and Huntington Station, N.Y. where they raised three children. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Harriet remained active in the community and church and held various part time positions outside of the home.

Harriet and Walter retired to Campton, N.H. in 1992 where they enjoyed the New Hampshire life, and especially the company of their beloved grandchildren. Harriet was well known for her exceptional cooking talents and her pies were especially sought after. She enjoyed organic gardening, cooking, reading, crocheting, and loved the ocean and swimming in the Pemigewasett River and at Mirror Lake.

Her beloved husband Walter predeceased her by 10 days. Harriet is survived by her son, Stephen Kisser of Manchester, NH, two daughters, Karen Kisser of Centerport, NY, and Pamela Hallock of Newton, NH; and many dear friends.

IN HER LIFE: In addition, other family members include; her four grandchildren, Hannah, Keith, Neil Hallock, and Fei Lin Kisser.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a joint interment service for Walter and Harriet at the VA cemetery in Boscowen, N.H. on Thursday Oct. 11 at 2:30 PM and a joint memorial service at the Campton Congregational Church on Saturday Oct. 13 at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ladys’ Guild of the Campton Congregational Church PO Box 328 Rt. 175 Campton, NH 03223.
