Harry Warren Heath

Harry Warren Heath, died at home of failing health on March 10, 2021 with his by his side. Canterbury, NH – Harry Warren Heath, age 87, son of the late Joseph and Viola Harry was born on November 22, 1933 in Warner, NH and he graduated from Franklin High School in 1950. Harry found learning easy due to his above average IQ. He was an avid reader throughout his life and he had the ability and talent to design and build anything mechanical.
At a young age Harry was a self-employed logger and he was later employed wife, Lorraine, by Scott and Williams in Laconia as a tool and die maker and machinist.

After graduating from the 45th Class of the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council academy in 1979, Harry served as Chief of Police for the Town of Canterbury, retiring after 22 years of service. He was a professional, highly respected for serving the residents of Canterbury with compassion and fairness.

He had a passion for repairing automobiles, eventually owning and operating Heath Garage, an automotive repair and welding business in Canterbury. Harry retired in 2018 after 62 years in business.

Harry loved designing and building his own race cars. He set records at Bryar Motorsport Speedway in Loudon and he set the groundwork for several family members who followed in his footsteps.

Never looking for recognition or attention, Harry quietly gave to many people who may have needed a hand or could use some assistance. Only those closest to him knew of his willingness to help those in need, never asking for anything in return.

Harry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Lorraine A. (Fields) Heath. Harry and Lorraine loved spending time together boating, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and going to hunting camps in Vermont and Maine.

Harry was the father of six children: Sandra, Norman (predeceased), Brian, Alan, Daniel (predeceased), and Harry, Jr. Harry is survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Harry was predeceased by brothers Joseph Heath and Robert Heath, and grandson, Toby Heath.

The Heath family would like to extend a special thank you to family friends Cheryl E., Chris C., Alex S., John E., Reggie and Cheryl C., Skip G., Al C., and Eddie B.
