Harry M. Medugno Sr., 81, of Allenstown died August 24, 2004 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Concord following a lengthy illness. Mr. Medugno was born on November 23, 1922 in Everett, MA the son of the late Giuseppe and Carmella (Tirella) Medugno. He joined the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps.) and helped construct many of the Massachusetts and New Hampshire State Parks. He was a boxer for the CCC Camp and also fought in the Chelsea, MA area where he won a Diamond Belt. He joined the Merchant Marines, guarding Boston Harbor and then went on to serve our county in the US Army. He was a World War II veteran who served his Country in the 101st Airborne in Normandy in 1944 and then the Battle of the Bulge. Beginning in the late 1950s, Harry spent 15 years working for Bonds and Trimont in Everett, MA. He then worked for the City of Everett and Billerica Water Depts. He moved to Allenstown with his family in the 1970s where he finished his distinguished career working at Sears in Concord. Harry enjoyed fishing and camping with his family and particularly loved the many trips he spent with his wife touring the coasts lighthouses. Family members include; his wife of 43 years, Patricia (Cregan Canning) Medugno; five sons, John Canning of Boca Raton, FL, Timothy Canning of Billerica, MA, Kevin Canning of Orlando, FL, Harry M. Medugno Jr. of Orlando, FL and Robert Medugno of Rapid City, SD; three daughters, Denise Colety of Claremont, Lori Merrill of Allenstown and Patty Boullie of Allenstown; 20 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Brady Barksdale of CT and Margie Diprizzio of AZ; two sisters- in-law, Theresa Medugno and Ruth Medugno both of Everett, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by four brothers and five sisters. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, September 3rd at 11:00 AM at the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen (exit 17N off I-93). Officiating will be Father Don Clinton from St. Jean the Baptist Church in Suncook.
