Hazel Mona Varnum

Hazel M. Varnum, 83, of Loudon passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 25, 2023.  Hazel was born on December 26, 1939 in Meredith, NH to George Frawley and Elizabeth Locke Morin.  She was the youngest of 8 children. Hazel was predeceased by her late husband Charles Varnum.

Hazel enjoyed life with many activities, loved family gatherings, painting, drawing, fishing, camping, bowling, her flower garden, dancing while doing her housework, Bingo anywhere and going to her favorite restaurant The Windmill. Loved her road trips with Charlie to Graceland and Wells Beach, Maine.

Hazel worked many of her working years at Sprague Electric in Concord. Retiring from Hoyt Electric.

Hazel leaves her daughters, Terry Mullen and her husband Bill, and Kelley Smith and her husband Alan. Son, Arthur (Pookie) LaBrecque predeceased and his fiancé Pamela Michaud.

Hazel loved her many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased was her beloved grandson, Koty LaBrecque.

Her daughters would like to send a special thanks to the staffs of John H. Whitaker Place in Penacook and Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen for all their kindness, compassion and devotion.

Services: A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 1-3pm at Cremation Society of NH, 172 King Street in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Hazel’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 15 Constitution Drive, Ste 1G, Bedford, NH 03110.
