Hector D. Lesmerises, age 81, of Concord, died on May 2, 2011 at the Concord Hospital after a short illness.
He was born on June 21, 1929 in Manchester, the son of the late Oscar and Yvonne (Goudreault) Lesmerises. He was raised and educated in Manchester. After high school, he joined the US Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 79.
Hector was employed for over 35 years with the Manchester Water Works. He retired in 1990 as a Construction Inspector. He also held part-time positions at Merchants Automotive Group and the New Hampshire Liquor Store.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorraine (Rambeau) Lesmerises, and his four children: Donna Pratt and her husband, Douglas, of Nashua, Daniel Lesmerises and his wife, Linda, of California, Debra Pace and her husband, Robert, of Londonderry and Diane Vlahos and her husband, Michael, of Concord. His 10 grandchildren, Douglas, Russell and Christopher Pratt, Hali and Cori Lesmerises, Beth Kowalski, Leah Wilson and Adam Kowalski and Nicolas and Matthew Vlahos and 9 great grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Fern Nadeau of Bedford. He was predeceased by his 3 brothers, Rudolph, Bertrand and Roger and a sister, Georgette.
IN HIS LIFE:
Hector was a devoted catholic and served many years at St. Raphaelâs Parish in Manchester. After he and his wife relocated to Concord in 1996 he spent time serving as a Eucharistic minister at Immaculate Conception Church in Penacook and St. Peterâs Church in Concord.
In their retirement years he and his wife spent many winters in Florida. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, cribbage, camping, reading, and mostly spending time with his family. He also enjoyed walking and tracked many miles on the streets of Manchester and Concord.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 9 Bonney Street, Penacook, New Hampshire. Burial will follow with Military Honors at 11:30 a.m. in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, New Hampshire.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
