Concord, New Hampshire, Helen Alma (Kershaw) Hodgkins, 89, daughter of Alfred N. and Dorothy A. Kershaw passed away on October 1, 2007, at Pleasant View Nursing home. Helen was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 20, 1917. She graduated from Winthrop High School and studied oil painting and dance at various times throughout her life. She taught ballroom dancing in her earlier years. After her children were grown, she worked in the Plymouth State University library, was the manager and buyer for the Marco Island Golf Pro Shop and became a real estate broker. She was the beloved wife of Willard H. Hodgkins, who predeceased her on May 6, 2000 after 62 years of marriage. They were married in 1938 and moved to Lynnfield Center, Massachusetts. They also resided in Rumney, Plymouth, Laconia and Concord, New Hampshire, as well as, Marco Island and Crystal River, Florida. They shared a love for musical gatherings and boating on the ocean in Maine and on Lake Winnipesaukee. She was a wonderful home maker, cook and devoted mother. They had four children, Willard H. Hodgkins, Jr. and wife Judith of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, David I. Hodgkins and wife Laura of Bow, New Hampshire, Pamela H. Gould and husband, Frederick of Plymouth, New Hampshire and Deborah J. Olson of Essex Junction, Vermont. She also leaves seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She had four sisters, Elizabeth Pender, Sandwich, Massachusetts and Dorothy I. Lindstrom, Millerstown, Pennsylvania. Her sisters, Jeanne E. Kershaw and Nancy Collignon predeceased her. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 20, 11:00 Am at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Plymouth, New Hampshire.
