Helen (Lavigne) Smith

Helen Smith, 78, died peacefully on April 21, 2023 at Genesis in Keene, NH.  She was born in Portland, ME on December 27, 1944.

In 1981 she moved to Claremont, NH with her family. She worked at Kmart for many years and in turn made some wonderful friends whom she loved as much as her family.  Later in her life she obtained her GED and became a CNA where she worked at Sullivan County Nursing Home.  She truly enjoyed her work and her patients. 

She was predeceased by her parents Nettie Smith and Ejnar Larson and her sister Dee Dee Lane. 

Helen is survived by several family members.  Her daughter and son in law Donna and Glen Morton, her stepsons James Lavigne Jr and wife Vicky, Jeffrey Lavigne and Wife Michelle, her 8 grandchildren Barton Burns, Grace Burns, Kianna Morton, Mystic Morton, Michael Lavigne, Jessica Lavigne, Craig Lavigne and Cassie Lavigne, her brother in law Edward (Buddy) Lane, niece Michelle Leone and nephews Chris and Edward Lane.

There will be no formal services per Helen’s request but there will be a celebration of life planned for her later in June.
