Helen Marie Oroski, 65, of Dennett Street in Portsmouth died on November 3, 2004 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born on December l0, l938 in Penn, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Curtis and Genevieve (Wolicki) Oroski. She moved to Portsmouth in her first year of life and graduated from Portsmouth High School with the class of l957. She received a Bachelor of Education from Plymouth State College and an her M.S. from Northeastern majoring in Mathematics. She started her teaching career at North Hampton. She was principle at Maude Trefethen School in New Castle for many years. Her last years were spent teaching fifth and six grades at the Newington Elementary School where she promoted and administered the Stone Environmental Camp program, an actvity she felt strongly about.She conducted workshops for teachers in the seacoast area and was a board member of th Teachers Credit Union. Contributing to many charities, she always had a helping hand for someone in need. She will be sorely missed by her family and her many close and dear friends. She is survived by her sisters: Mary Jo of Portsmouth, Bernice Westgateand her husband, Walter of Portsmouth, Patricia Connor and her husband, Michael of Washington, DC, Elizabeth Fleming of Ormond Beach, Fla., her extended family:her step-siblings, Eileen O'connor and Mary Mullen of Concord, Michael O'Sullivan of Goffstown, and Margaret O'Sullivan of Swampscott, Mass., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Rita Oroski and Florence Field. A funeral mass will be held at l0:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the Immaculate Conception Church. Internment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
