Henry Albert “Hank” Blanchette, 86, of Manchester, NH, passed away at Granite VNA Hospice with loved ones by his side on December 14, 2023. Born in Manchester on July 10, 1937, he was a son of the late Joseph and Laurette (Rheault) Blanchette. He shared 13 years of marriage with his loving companion of 21 years, Cynthia (Crotty) Blanchette.

Hank was raised in Manchester and graduated from Manchester West High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country. He had a long career in commercial printing, retiring from Cummings Printing after over 30 years. After 9/11, Hank was felt compelled to serve his country and ended up coming out of retirement. Hank joined the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration as a Transportation Security Officer and worked at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. It was there that he met his wife, Cindy. In his spare time, Hank enjoyed gardening, woodworking, camping, hunting, fishing, country music and socializing with family and friends.

Hank is survived by his wife, Cindy Blanchette of Manchester; his daughters, Deborah Gardner and her husband Aaron of Boynton Beach, FL., Lisa St’Onge and her husband Chris of Dunbarton; his sisters, Pauline Blanchette, and Irene LaForce of Manchester; his grandchildren, Conor and Nathan Gardner and Olivia St’Onge; his nephews, David and Danny LaForce and Michael Rousseau; his nieces, Jackie Wozniak, Kimberly Snow and Christine Lemay and her husband Jim; as well as other extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Hank was predeceased by his sisters, Theresa Snow and Claire Rousseau; and his nephew, Dennis LaForce.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, January 11th from 4-5PM with a Memorial Service at 5PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. He will be laid to rest privately at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Hank’s memory may be made to The Inn at Deerfield, PO Box 87, Deerfield, NH 03037.
