Ira B. Sutton

October 14, 1955 — December 14, 2023

Nashua

Ira Bruce Sutton, 68, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at his home on December 14th, 2023, after a decade-long battle with cancer.

Ira is survived by his 5 children: Arielle (and husband Jason), Madison (and husband Alex), Taylor (and husband Tyler), Spencer (and girlfriend Meg) and his youngest Bria; companion and friend, Suzette; granddaughter Addie & grandson Austin; brothers, Mark (and wife Karen) and Craig and 7 beloved grand dogs.

Ira was born in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Dr. Leonard and Harri Sutton. After his graduation from Moses Brown School, he attended Union College where he played soccer and rugby, and met some of his life long friends. He continued his education at the Suffolk University School of Law. Ira used his education, work ethic and faith to achieve success and recognition in anything he did.

Ira was a natural mentor. Professionally, he served as the BDC Manager at Toyota of Nashua. His team valued his commitment to excellence that was carried throughout his career, earning him the respect, love, and admiration of many colleagues that he considered family.

The love he had for his children was undeniable. He seized every opportunity to share their achievements and joys in conversations with others. His role as a father was one he cherished, and his guidance and love will forever be known by each of his kids.

Ira will be remembered for his eclectic style and intense love of food. He loved to make people smile and found happiness in extending a helping hand to those in need. He appreciated the underdog and would take extra time to make those around him feel loved.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Ira’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Calvary Christian Church in Lynnfield, MA at 12pm, followed by a lunch reception.

Additionally, his eldest daughters will be holding a Shiva at Temple Beth David in Westwood, Massachusetts on Thursday December 21, 2023 4-6pm.

Ira’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the incredible care he received from the amazing teams at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Home Health & Hospice of Merrimack Valley. They would also like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Atish Choudury and Jennifer Keller PA-C for their compassion, support & guidance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ira Sutton to the Genitourinary Department at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to support cancer research and patient care: dana-farber.org/gift.

In remembering Ira, let us celebrate a life that had strong impact and presence. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
